A driver of a semitrailer is injured after he crashed his vehicle around 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday. He rolled off the exit ramp from I-70 East to I-75 North. His injuries were not life-threatening, according to the report of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Sixty-two-year-old Anthony Romaker of Bowling Green is under investigation for the accident. Trooper Sheldon Goodrum said that the charges against him are pending.
The driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
According to the initial investigation, the semitrailer did not slow for the curved exit ramp, and the rig flipped over the cement wall. It finally stopped under the ramp from I-75 North to I-70 West.
The police did not close any roads or ramps during the investigation. Crews worked for several hours to remove the vehicle.
According to police reports, the trailer was loaded with 40,000 pounds of automobile parts. The parts were removed from the wrecked vehicle and loaded into another semitrailer that was brought to the scene.
Semi-trucks are 20-30 times heavier than any passenger vehicle. Still, they frequently lost balance, and cause accidents or flip over on the roads.
If you were involved in a crash with a truck, first seek medical help. Your health and recovery are your primary goals.
But, it is important to seek legal help for your case. Before taking any steps, make sure you hire a truck accident lawyer who will help you file a compensation claim.
Big trucking companies have big insurance companies on their sides, which means they have enough resources to pay for compensation.
Your attorney knows this, which is why they will not settle for the minimum payout the truck driver’s insurers will offer.
