Car crash kills two and injures four in Columbus according to a report filed by the Columbus police.
The car accident occurred at night when a Toyota Camry collided with an Audi A6. The jolt caused the Audi to collide with another vehicle parked nearby (unoccupied).
The driver of the Audi, an 18-year-old man who could not be identified, sustained minor injuries in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital alongside another passenger who also received minor injuries. However, a third passenger in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital.
All the three travelers were helped by the emergency department in time before their vehicle caught fire.
On the other hand, the driver of the Toyota, a woman who could not be identified, and a passenger, identified as Anju Biswakarma, received serious injuries and died on the scene.
Another passenger in the Toyota sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. According to the police, the driver of the Toyota was with her two sisters. The third sister is receiving medical care and is said to be in a poor state.
The crash resulted in the road being blocked. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident and have taken the vehicles under custody for a proper examination.
There were no signs of any of the drivers being impaired or driving under the influence. The police are gathering proof to find the cause of the collision and identify the culprit.
